Community Initiatives
Our community initiatives ensure that women from diverse backgrounds are given the opportunity to pursue careers in the film industry. We provide workshops and mentoring programs for individuals from underrepresented communities, to help them build their careers and develop skills that are critical for success in the industry. Our programs are designed to break down the barriers to entry, so that women with talent and potential can succeed, regardless of their background.
Expand Opportunity
At The Colorful Fix, creativity meets social responsibility. We are dedicated to empowering women and communities through art and education. We believe that creativity has the power to transform lives and communities. That’s why we offer a wide range of workshops, scholarships, and partnerships to help women of color realize their full potential and make a difference in the world.
Scholarships & Grants
The scholarships and grants program of The Colorful Fix is a step towards diversifying the film industry and giving women of color who want to work in this creative profession opportunities to grow. We seek to remove the financial challenges that frequently prevent talented women from underrepresented backgrounds from pursuing their aspirations in film.
We have partnered with Creative Work Fund to award women of color with grants to create their work to its upmost potential. We also created EmpowerHer Scholarship, The Colorful Fix's collegiate scholarship, which will help aid the next generation of diverse female filmmakers. These grants and scholarships not only offer funding for training and education, but they also strongly promote inclusivity. We aim elevate the voices of women of color in the industry, acknowledging the distinctive perspectives and skills they bring to the table. In the end, The Colorful Fix's dedication to helping young female directors from varied backgrounds promotes more diversity and representation in cinema.

Film Literacy Training
With the knowledge and abilities to operate a camera well, The Colorful Fix's seminars and training programs are essential to the empowerment of women of color in the film business. These programs acknowledge the historical underrepresentation of women of color in the film industry as well as the need for greater inclusivity and diversity. The Colorful Fix has been partnering with nonprofits across the nation to provide children and adults in underrepresented communities access to free film education.
Currently, we are giving a big thanks to International Center of Photography for partnering with us. Participants acquire a thorough understanding of camera operation, cinematography, and visual narrative approaches through practical workshops and expert-led training sessions. They gain the ability to record stories that mirror their own viewpoints and life experiences, bringing attention to tales that are frequently overlooked in the business.

Screenings
The Colorful Fix's screenings help in promoting the work of women of color in the film industry by giving them a platform to display their work. We have partnered with Angelika Film Center to showcase underrepresented women of color films twice a month on the 15th and 30th of each month.
These gatherings provide films and other media made by women of color a stage, granting them the visibility and acknowledgment they deserve. Through these screenings, The Colorful Fix confronts the historical underrepresentation of women of color in the business while also celebrating diversity and inclusiveness. The organization encourages important discussions about the distinctive viewpoints and narrative of women of color in the film industry by distributing these films to a larger audience. These films highlight the extraordinary abilities and stories that are frequently disregarded. We hope to inspire and educate audiences in addition to entertaining them.
Diversity Workshops

We aim to accomplish The Colorful Fix's objective to support diversity and inclusivity for women of color in the film industry through the provision of diversity workshops and training programs. We have partnered with Inclusive Cinema to offer a forum for education and empowerment, giving women of color the connections, expertise, and resources they need to succeed in a historically underrepresented field.
Participants in these workshops and training sessions learn about acting, directing, scripting, and production, among other facets of filmmaking, with an emphasis on the particular opportunities and problems faced by women of color. They gain knowledge of cultural sensitivity, representation, and storytelling that appeals to a range of audiences. Additionally, these programs create a welcoming environment where budding artists can interact, work together, and support one another.
